Why There’s No Shop Yet?

Why no shop yet? Because when you’re on SSDI, starting a business isn’t just “set up a page and start selling”. It’s walking a tightrope where one wrong step can kick you off the lifelines keeping you alive.

The Good News: I finally got through to someone at SSA that helped me understand the steps I need to take to even go back to work part time.

The Bad News: Understanding doesn’t buy a PO Box so my home address stays private. It doesn’t pay the LLC fees. It doesn’t buy supplies and listing fees. And all the other wonderful things I need to do before I can do this the right way.

I’m exploring grants to bridge the gap, but even that takes time. The truth is, I have no safety net. No family, no friends, no backup, never enough extra income each month, and sometimes barely enough energy slots left to even keep myself existing. If I fuck this up financially, there’s nobody to catch me. And because I rely on entitlement programs, an honest mistake could mean losing everything.

I’m doing this carefully because I’m disabled and utterly alone in this life at this moment. Things take longer when you’re the whole team. Especially when you’re the whole team and have limitations due to disability.

I’m not waiting forever—I’m gathering the funds responsibly so I don’t crash before I start.

If you want to speed this up, donations via Ko-Fi help cover startup costs directly. If you’d rather just wait, follow my socials for updates. Either way, thank you for standing by me while I navigate this minefield.
